As a member of the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce, Detailed Weddings & Events, is a South Carolina Midland's based full-service, partial and day-of wedding and event planning, coordinating, consulting, designing and honeymoon-planning company located in Sumter, SC and is 44 miles east of Columbia, SC.  It is veteran owned, and the owner has studied the business of weddings and events and is a graduate of America's #1 wedding, floral and event design school, The Institute of Wedding & Event Design (IWED),and is ordained by the American Marriage Ministries to officiate weddings, can also provide appetizers and desserts. and is a registered member of The Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), and a Certified Sandals Specialist and can book and arrange Honeymoon and Destination Wedding accomodations to all of the Sandals and Beaches Resorts located throughout the Caribbean, as well as book accomodations for elopements, rngagements, anniversaris, bithrdays, singles and families. .  

 

The owner has attended several colleges and universities throughout her miliary career, but had never decided upon a major.  Print journalism and radio broadcasting  were her initial pursuits, and these career fields have led to past employment opportunities as a newspaper editor and a major-market radio broadcasting job.  Small and major-market radio jobs have helped her to become a well-rounded event speaker and/or emcee.  

 

Some of you may ask, what is the difference between a planner, coordinator, consulant and a designer?.  Here is an explanation of the differences for each title.  A planner is involved in a wedding or event from the beginning and to its end.  A coordinator works on a shorter timeline and is involved with a wedding or event a few months before the big day.  A consultant answers questions and provides etiquette guidelines for a wedding or an event host needing assistance with his or her plans.  A designer specializes in the aesthetics, and layout, such as floor plans, lighting, flowers, furniture, linens, and attire. etc.  In our opinion, planners, coordinators, consultants and designers all perform the same jobs, but some involve more physical work than others or none at all, as in the case of a consultant whom explains how and why something is done or serves as a guide.

 

At Detailed Weddings & Events, we offer all four of the aformentioned services.  We also offer Sandals Beaches & Resorts Carribean honeymoon planning and a la carte services to fit your unique style, theme and needs.  With our certified event design styling and educated planning, coordination and floral designs, we will make every effort to transform your vison into a reality.  We will be there to manage all the details and logistics.  We will strive to ensure that every step along the way is enjoyable, from our very first meeting until the end of your seamless

event. 

 

We are dedicated to making your event truly yours with a cohesive design that enhances extraordinary details. Our bespoke (one-of-a-kind) coordination, planning and design services extend beyond the color palette and venue selection and encompasses everything from set-up to break-down, while helping to make a wedding or event affordable.

If you hire us,  you will receive all of the pomp, glitz, glamour, sophistication and elegance as you would from a more matured wedding or event planning company and all at a price that is easy to pay-down or all of it at once.   We will also provide you with our online client portal that can be accessed any time of the day, and it also organizes all of the details about your big day.  

 

In keeping with ABC's Code of Ethics, if we receive any referral-discounts for recommending clients to a vendor, we will pass the savings to our clients in order to help them save dollars and never pocket the commission. 

 

Other benefits allow couples to enjoy the company of family and friends, while leaving all of the details in the hands of an educated planner, designer and a member of ABC.  Our main concern is to organize a client's dream for a wedding or an event and bring it to life.   The secret to having the event of your dream is to give yourselves enough time to pay off all debts before the big day.  Although we accept clients on a 3-month or 6-month timeline, wedding clients are best served when the planning process is initiated a year out or longer.

 

Additionaly, we encourage clients to purchase wedding or event insurance at a nominal fee for at least one day, with WEDSAFE Insurance, Wedding Protector Plan or Markel Event Insurance, in order to protect against losses, such as lost deposits, no shows, lost rings, damaged wedding dress, cancellations, wedding attendant illnesses, venue closings, fires or the onset of a pandemic, such as COVID 19 that has delayed or derailed previous confirmed weddings or other event plans.

Individuals and couples should consider that whatever company they choose to help with their wedding or event plans, they will have to live with their decisions, but be sure to get everything in writing.  Some of the decisions made, may affect the stability of their loving families and may also create emotional rifts within.
